Last day of VBSThursday, 16-Jul-2009 11pm CST
Well, the trip is winding down. We had about 100 kids in attendance again today (official figures won't be in until our evening devotional time :) and VBS is now over—a bittersweet feeling to be sure. The connections formed and felt here are not easily broken; they exist despite national boundaries and cultural differences, and like bungee cords, keep some team members coming back year after year. About 110 souls were present last night, for our final evening service. We have had a total of 7 baptisms this trip.

We alleviated feelings of sadness concerning our impending departure by visiting The Pork Pit for lunch today. It is a favorite spot for many in the group, and we have fond memories there. Included below is a picture of the pork and jerk chicken roasting on a large barbecue, along with a couple of last night's assembly and the sign for the church of Christ that meets at the YWCA.

A group picture will be taken tonight, and will be posted tomorrow or the next day when all have arrived home safely, in the Lord. Your notes of encouragement have been a blessing to us, and we each look forward to sharing more about our trip when we can see those we know personally. It has been a joy to work with these children, who have allowed us a window into their lives and a door into their hearts. We hope that you have been touched by some of the things you've seen and read!
